Feb. 18 - Fuel Film's 48 Hour Film info

At 6 p.m . this Friday (Feb. 18), some 100 filmmakers will meet, compete and complete five films in 48 hours — many will pitch, five will be chosen.

It's Fuel Film's 48 Hour Film Launch where novice and seasoned filmmakers alike will gather and set out to make them into short films all in a single weekend.

Fuel Film will provide the space, the equipment and the fuel for participants to turn their story ideas into short films.  All meals will be provided from Friday evening through Sundays' premieres and you'll even get a cool 48 Hour Film Launch T-Shirt.

Participants will have the opportunity to pitch their story ideas and then everyone will choose up to five movies they wish to make. Attendees will be required to sign up for either Pre-Production, Production, Post Production or Marketing Teams.  Experienced local filmmakers will join novice filmmakers on each team in the areas of scriptwriting, cinematography, audio production, music composition, editing and acting, while marketing teams work on promotion.

Non-Filmmakers - Have you ever wondered what it would be like to make a movie?  This single weekend could give you a new perspective and an awesome array of contacts in the industry

Filmmakers - What if you could have 20-30 people working on your short film over a single weekend?

48 Hour Launch weekends are powerful networking events that combine community spirit, local expertise and a truly rare experience in a single weekend. Food, drink, space and equipment will be provided.  Some will work through the entire weekend, others will participate on and off throughout the weekend.

This year we've amped up our production values: we have more support for 48HR Filmmakers! FuelFilm has set-up Mentor Event Pages for use during 48HR Film Launch. Filmmakers will be able to post questions, character breakdowns, actors can post head shots and contact info, musicians can post links to their music and DPs can post questions about cinematography.
