"Losers Take All," a client project of the Memphis & Shelby County Film and Television Commission, gets a nice writeup in The Commercial Appeal.
John Beifuss writes about the actors who make up the fictional punk band The Fingers in the indie comedy that is in production now:
"(Billy) Kay and his fellow Fingers -- Kyle Gallner ('Veronica Mars'), Aaron Himelstein (Joan of Arcadia') and Peter Brensinger ('30 Rock') -- arrived in Memphis well before the film's Aug. 16 start date for some lively but intense mentoring and musical instruction with singer-songwriter-guitarist John Paul Keith and drummer Paul Buchignani, two of the city's most respected pop/rock musicians."
Producer Michael S. Ryan is mentioned in the story as a key element in bringing the production to Memphis:
"A frequent visitor and longtime Memphis booster, Ryan, who lives in New York, brought the project here, knowing that the city had the necessary locations, as well as a distinctive vibe, a thriving music scene and the presence of the Memphis & Shelby County Film and Television Commission, to help ensure as smooth and economical a production as possible."
