See the story headlined "TV food competition rolls into Court Square with a taste for pork" in The Commercial Appeal — about a Food Network show filming in Memphis.
In the story, Sharon O'Guin, deputy film commissioner for the Memphis & Shelby County Film and Television Commission, said plans for filming began four months ago.
The story says:
O'Guin said for the 2010-2011 fiscal year, the commission has helped with about 40 TV shows, 10 music videos, 15 documentaries, five commercials, two national print campaigns and several movies.
The Food Network's 80-person film crew -- which, she said is good for hotels -- is tweeting and blogging about production.
"This is good national exposure for Memphis, especially with the assumption by the national media that we're under water," O'Guin said.
Which goes to show the variety of projects that keep Memphis a prime destination for entertainment production.
Twenty-five years and still producing!
