Memphis & Shelby County Film and Television Commission client Willy Bearden, a veteran writer and filmmaker with countless local projects under his belt, received the coveted Distinguished Achievement Award in the Creative and Performing Arts from the University of Memphis.
The 33rd annual award was presented to Bearden Friday at a luncheon at the Rendezvous with numerous dignitaries there to honor Bearden for his years of documenting Memphis history as well as his work in industrial videos and feature films.
