'Footloose' seeks male dancers

"Footloose" may not be filming in Tennessee, but there's no reason some Tennesseans can't get in on some of the action.

A casting search is underway by Paramount Pictures, which says it needs males 18 or older to play high school seniors. Shooting begins this summer. You must have "natural rhythm and be comfortable dancing. You do not have to be a trained dancer but a quick learner." The setting is the South in the present day.

The feature, scheduled for a 2011 release, is written and directed by Memphian Craig Brewer, who moved heaven and earth (and tried to move the Paramount mountain) to get it filmed in Memphis. But Paramount execs chose Georgia for the film.

All the instructions for submitting yourself are here at footloosecasting.com. Deadline is Wednesday, June 9.
