PRODUCTION WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
WEEKEND WORKSHOP #1
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23 & SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2019:
PRODUCTION OFFICE PROTOCOL, PAPERWORK, AND POLITICS.
BREAKING INTO THE MOVIE INDUSTRY AS AN OFFICE P.A.!
Any project’s production office constantly vibrates as the nerve center of the production – from the biggest blockbuster to the smallest micro budget! Learn the basics of navigating the production office from a Memphian who’s just wrapped the latest multi-million dollar film to base in Memphis: NETFLIX’S “Uncorked”! Meet the Professor: Production Manager/Production Coordinator Kevin Ivey! Kevin’s other recent production credits include the CMT series, “Sun Records,” Tom Shadyac’s “Brian Banks,” NBC’s “This is Us,” and OWN‘s “Greenleaf.”
Selection to this class is competitive. 30 fee-free training opportunities will be awarded to 30 lucky residents of Shelby County! Lunch will be provided Saturday; snacks and beverages both days.
The Commission is seeking applicants rom all areas of Shelby County for this class. Diversity among applicants is encouraged. Basic computer skills are required–familiarity with email, use of search engines, spreadsheets, and scanning. Microsoft Office and Google Suite experience is preferred but not required. A prior interest in film must be demonstrated. All applicants must be legal residents of Shelby County and at least 18 years of age.
Last day to receive applications is February 13, 2019.
